Next Saturday, November 30th is a national celebration of sport, from grassroots to high performance, is an opportunity for all Canadians to celebrate the power of sport, build community and national spirit and facilitate healthy, active living.
The City of Markham and the Federation of Badminton Clubs (FBC) invites everyone to join the ‘Active for Life’ movement next Saturday by participating in various venues throughout the city. The badminton venue will be held at the Centennial Community Centre (8600 McCowan Road) beginning with grass roots programs hosted by FBC from 6:00-7:45 PM. From 7:45-9:30 PM, top players from various high performance training centres such as B&R Club, E Badminton Training Centre, Lee’s Badminton Training Centre and the Mandarin Badminton Club will be playing exhibition games.
Event Schedules:
6:00 – 7:00 PM *Active Start Ages 5-10 -Kick off to FBC & City of Markham Badminton Instructional Program at the grass roots level.
7:00 – 7:45 PM Skills Challenge – Open to All Ages
7:45 – 8:45 PM Exhibition Games Featuring Junior National players
8:45 – 9:30 PM Challenge the Pros (Canada’s Top Junior Players)
9:30- 10:00 PM Free Play
